Why is Medical Research Important for Acne?
According to the National Institutes of Health, about 4 of every 5 people between the ages of 11 and 30 have acne outbreaks at some point.
We understand that acne can make life difficult for those who suffer from it, and severe acne can lead to permanent scarring.
For these and other reasons, finding new and better treatments for acne is important. Before medications can be approved for public use, they must be tested in research studies like this one.
The purpose of this medical research study is to evaluate the effectiveness and safety of an investigational skin treatment for people age 9 and older with moderate-to-severe facial acne.
Although there are many definitions, a clinical trial or research study is generally considered to be a health- related research study in people that follows a pre-defined written protocol. This is an interventional type study, meaning that you will receive a study treatment and the outcome will be measured.
