ABOUT MEDICAL RESEARCH
Although there are many definitions, a clinical trial or research study is generally considered to be a health-related research study in people that follows a pre-defined written protocol.
This is an interventional type study, meaning that you will receive a study treatment and the outcome will be measured.
There is no guarantee that study participants will receive any benefit from participating in the study. Your acne might not get better while you are in this study. However, this research study may yield new information that could benefit people with acne in the future by helping to answer questions about the effectiveness and safety of the study treatment.
Voluntary Participation and Informed Consent
Participation in a research study is completely voluntary. In all research studies, qualified potential participants are first informed about the research study in detail. After receiving this information, all participants must give their consent in writing to proceed. Some research studies involve more tests and doctor visits than the participant would normally have for an illness or condition.
Privacy and Confidentiality
If you pre-qualify for this research study, you will be given a choice to submit your contact information along with your answers to the preliminary questionnaire to a study center conducting this research study for further consideration. If you make the choice to submit your contact information, your contact information will only be shared with those involved with the research study and will not be shared or provided to any other person or business not related to this particular research study.
Except as noted above, your name and contact information will not be shared and your answers will remain confidential. We will not use your information for any purpose other than to screen you for potential participation in this research study.
